Bill Brown: My 33 Years in China

Good government gives China stability, wealth: Bill Brown

Bill Brown, a Xiamen University business professor who has spent 33 years in East China’s Fujian, says his fascination with China dates back to 1976 when he went to Taiwan. He was then determined to go to the Chinese mainland to know more about the oriental country’s history, culture and language, thereby opening the new page of his life in China. He was sure of China’s potential as the country with the world’s largest population was determined to end poverty.

For Bill Brown, teaching graduate business at Xiamen University was a strategic opportunity as China’s economic development needed international business and he might play a part in the country’s anti-poverty fight.
