The 91 years old business leader, Li Ka-shing publishes a statement in Hong Kong newspapers that ‘the melon of Huangtai cannot bear the picking again’.
The phrase refers to a Tang Dynasty poem to suggest the Tang Dynasty Clan has suffered so much that any further power struggle would completely ruin it.

“黃台之瓜，何堪再摘”來自於唐章懷太子李賢的名作《黃台瓜辭》。全文為“種瓜黃台下，瓜熟子離離。一摘使瓜少，再摘使瓜稀。三摘猶自可，摘絕抱蔓歸。”
李賢是武則天的二兒子，曾在兄長李忠、李宏相繼被廢後擔任太子，但被武后廢為庶人，最終被逼自殺。該詩以瓜與採瓜人比喻子與親，以摘瓜喻骨肉相殘，感嘆母子親情在權力鬥爭下的變質，用黃台之瓜比喻唐代宗室不堪一再損傷。
李嘉誠曾多次在公開活動時，引用“黃台之瓜何堪再摘”八字勸戒港人，比喻香港好像“黃台之瓜”，認為香港人要從香港大局利益出發，不要做出傷害香港的事。
